The Religionspädagogische Beiträge. Journal for Religion in Education (RpB) has been a leading scientific journal in the field of religious education in the German-speaking countries since 1978. It is edited by the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Religionspädagogik und Katechetik (AKRK) and since 2021 published “open access” with a double-blind peer-review process.

The Religionspädagogische Beiträge publishes cutting-edge research that provides new insights on the manifold aspects of religion in education in all regions and countries of the world. Disciplines commonly represented in the journal include religious education, theology, religious studies, educational sciences, sociology (of religion), psychology (of religion), and others in which religion and education are common topics. The journal publishes original research articles. Theoretical, historical, comparative, quantitative, qualitative, or mixed methods contributions are welcome.
There are also book-reviews of recent scientific publications in the field of religious education.

The journals articles are published "online first". All articles are available “open access” from this website.
