Dear Readers,
We are pleased to announce the publication of the next open issue of RpB. In addition to special issues devoted to specific topics, open issues reflect the breadth of religious education research. In this issue, this breadth is evident in terms of subject matter. For example, students' conceptual ideas are examined (Karin Peter), possibilities for liturgical education in a virtual environment are explored (Mariusz Chrostowski), the relationship between religious education and religious didactics is discussed (Ulrike Witten), and guidelines for a didactically responsible approach to the phenomenon of posthumanism are proposed (Mariusz Chrostowski & Elisabeth Fock). However, the issue also reflects the wide methodological range of religious education research, which extends from historical approaches (e.g. Matthias Werner) to hermeneutic works (e.g. Bernhard Grümme) to empirical contributions (e.g. Claudia Gärtner & Annalena Sieveke). Finally, Martin Ubani's contribution provides insight into the international context. We believe that the open issue in 2025 will thus provide a largely representative insight into what is currently being researched and considered in religious education and religious didactics, especially in German-speaking countries.
